A little pricey, but easy to use

I bought these for my daughter, who is currently a little younger than 18 months. She picked up on how to use them quickly after I showed her how to do it. Now they are a regular at our arts and craft times. The fact that they are self contained makes them great for travel (nobody wants a bored baby). She has learned how to stamp them on people, but luckily, it takes her a little effort. They must have improved the duck, because our yellow shows up nice and crisp on paper. We will take our first plane trip this summer, so I am going to buy the other set of stampers.

Fun Little Stampers…my 3 and 5 year old love em!

I had a coupon for these and thought I would give them a try since my kids love stampers. I like that they are self inking and don’t dry out. I also like that they are washable. They are also large enough to easily find amongst our drawers full of “crafty stuff”. I realize that they are geared for toddlers, but I got them for my 3.5 year old and 5.5 year old kids and they had a great time stamping up their paper.

Each stamper stamps a little face of the animal character that houses it. The stamper itself is up inside the animal about a half inch and the stamper has to be turned upside down and pushed down to make the little plunger stamp the image. This is great for younger kids as they won’t just inadvertently rub ink all over everything. The crocodile and beaver stamps are very cute. The duck would be cute if you could see it better. The yellow ink just doesn’t show up well on white paper…haven’t tried it on different colored paper yet.

The only thing I would say that my kids didn’t like about these stamps was that they couldn’t stamp their hands (something they love to do)….although I realize this may be a good selling point for some parents…LOL! They seem to only stamp on very flat surfaces i.e. paper on a table. Other than that, I think they do what they are supposed to do and can bring some real enjoyment to kids of many ages.

My 2 year old LOVED this product!

I dind’t know if I’d ever get him out of the tub! He did have a little trouble getting enough paint on his fingers, so I got his paintbrush, and that worked better. The yellow was a little hard to see, but they smelled great! He painted all the walls, then himself, and begged for more! When I told him we were saving some for later, he had fun washing off the walls with the fish-sponge. Then he played with the fish for a while pretending to catch it and cook it. To sum it up, when the bath was over, he clapped his hands and said “Mommy, I LOVE my tub paints!”

Good Product!

My daughter loves this stuff! I put in in a play kitchen pot (bad idea) and while she was leaning over to “paint” she dumped it. Used a taller plastic glass (good idea) and it worked much better. Thanks to the previous reviewer for the paint brush hint. It works much better with the brush, it lasts longer too. I agree, I wish they had refills. To heck with the educational value, IT’S PLAIN FUN!

The Best for Learning and Fun!

We purchased this for our 16 month old grandson. It’s the first toy he heads for each time he visits (which is quite often – he lives next door). Some parts are a little advanced for his dexterity level, but it’s so rewarding to watch him learn to figure it out without getting frustrated. I highly recommend this item for learning and fun.

The babies LOVE it!

I bought this toy as a gift for my 12month old. At first he couldn’t grasp the concept, it was too early. But, I kept it, and 3months down the road, he and his 21month old cousin are completely entertained by it. They carry it around the house and string the beads along. They really enjoy it. A little pricey, but VERY durable, and I could see them enjoying this toy for a long time to come. Even I liked playing with it! LOL

Go ahead and get your own “germ free” version

My youngest absolutely loves playing the bead maze at the doctor’s office (or any other place we go that happens to have one). So I broke down and purchased this for her for Christmas. It is nice sized but not big enough to take up tons of room. She plays with it often and I’m glad I went ahead and bought it for her. It seems to be made well but most of Melissa and Doug toys are usually made well. Hopefully, now that she has her own, she won’t be so drawn to the ones in the waiting rooms.

LOVE these!

My 22 month old loves these! They fit her hand perfectly, and I didn’t even have to show her how to use them. She colors with them almost every day.

My Daughter Loves these!

I’ve read the reviews and had to write my own. My 2 year old has been using these since she was just over a year old. She loves them. She’s never bitten them or broken them. But she does color with them. She carries them around like they’re her little pets. And YES they do completely wash off if she decides to write on herself. These rock! And if you have a child that may bite them off as I read in other reviews. I’m assuming they’d bite regular crayons too! Maybe try supervision as you would with any new toy. Oh and they’re non-toxic!

Excellent first time crayons for age appropriate toddlers

I must admit I am surprised by the amount of complaints posted here. I bought these for my 15 month old and they were a huge hit, and still are at 22 months of age. (Although now the traingular markers and finger paints are more excititng for him.)

The crayons should not come out of the holders unless the TaDoodle is held and twisted in a certain direction. One direction raises the crayon and the other direction lowers it.

However, to agree with some of the cons, my little guy did taste test the green crayon on two ocassions, at which time I decided he could only color under my supervision. Problem solved. He does NOT do this anymore, and he even knows the marks have to go on the paper.

At 15-18 months, he did enjoy throwing the TaDoodles, which was a problem for the infamous and aforementioned green crayon. This crayon broke and for the life of me I can not reinsert it because the rest of the crayon is still stuck in the base. So, he only has 2 colors instead of 3 now.

The shape of the crayon is part of the natural developing way a child grasps objects. It’s the same idea as hodling a spoon with a fist, etc. Once the child is shown how to hold the crayon it should be very natural for him.

Great birthday gift that will stand out from the usual

I have gotten several of these for birthday gifts for 2&3 year olds that like crafts. They are often too young for a lot of other craft sets. This has been a huge hit among the typical Disney princess and Dora gifts that are usually at these parties.

Money Well Spent!

This is a great purchase for my 3 year old daughter. They have tons of craft supplies inside including feathers and buttons and a huge glue stick. She always asks to make another craft with the collage farm. We even hung one of the animals she made on her wall. I normally don’t leave customer reviews but I just had to with this one!

Great Fun for Kids

This craft kit is wonderful for kids of all ages. It comes with tons of materials and they really enjoyed creating cute and unusual animals. The only thing that would improve the kit would be including more animal cutouts and better crayons. The crayons are very waxy so not good for coloring and the few cut outs that came with the kit were done in only two sittings – although we had tons of decorative materials left over. Even the ability to order a refill kit would be an improvement. Otherwise, this is a great product and the kids had lots of fun with it.

Excellent crayons

We gave these to our 22 month old son for Christmas and he did’nt want to stop playing with these crayons. He likes stacking them up ’till they fall down – and they don’t break. We enjoy counting the crayons together and naming each of the colors. They’re very easy and fun to hold either with your finger inside the crayon or in the palm of your hand. For the lighter colored crayons you have to press down somewhat hard to actually see the color on the paper. I like that they don’t roll off the table!

These are great!

My 20 month old twins love these! We bought a smaller set when they were about 1. They could use them then, but tended to bite the ends off. I would wait till the child was past the eating everything stage. Now my girls have a great time with the crayons. They like to stack them up as much as they like to color with them. I would definately recommend them.

Great teaching tool

We purchased a set of these for my son to use in the bath, so that he could learn his ABC’s. Once he accomplished that, we quickly found out that one set was not enough. We have three sets, and we use these to teach spelling and reading.

Fun to chew on too

I bought these for my baby at 4 months and now at a year old, she still loves them. She will hold one in each hand and walk around the house. They are fun in the tub because they stick to the side, she loves to pull them off. They also are good teethers – most now have little tooth indentions on the back, but the foam isn’t breaking or anything like that, they seem perfectly safe. And for some reason, our cat likes them too ?????
