Hours of enjoyment

Simply put, these blocks are gorgeous. They are so well-crafted and lovely and come in such a wide variety of shapes and sizes. My husband and I even enjoy playing with my daughter, helping her to build towers and fantastical structures. She also likes to lay the flat blocks in a line and use them as roads for her cars, complete with the triangular blocks at the end for ramps.

HABA makes high quality blocks which are pleasing to the eye and satin-smooth. The wood is strong and resists dents/dings. Each shape is designed to fit with the others to make attractive structures.
The shapes included in the Extra Large Starter Set are interesting enough to encourage children to play and build for hours. My husband and I cannot resist helping!
HABA blocks are well worth the price. I plan to purchase more HABA block sets to expand our construction horizons. What a great memory-making toy!

I jumped the gun a little and bought these blocks when my son was about 8mo old. Even though this toy is recommended for kids of about one year, my son still spent considerable time examining the cubes and mouthing them. What I like about blocks in general though, is that they can grow with your child – add different shapes and colors later on and the kid can build so many things with them for a very long time. The educational value of blocks is very great, because they can become whatever your child imagines them to be, as opposed to the toys already shaped as objects. Plus, these blocks will last forever, for my next child, and then to be passed on to someone else!

my son is 2, and loves to look through these blocks in the sun.they have helped him to learn his colors,and how to seperate colors that are the same. great toy.

Beautiful Blocks

I bought these blocks for my son while I was on a business trip in Germany. They are wonderful and perfect for little hands (he was 10 months old). They are very well made. My son loves them, I’ll be looking for more HABA products, they are worth the money.

Great even for 6 month olds

I bought these blocks for my daughter when she was 5 months old. Out of all her toys, this is one of her favorites. She loves throwing down towers we build with it, and putting them just out of her reach encourages her to crawl. She likes the different colors, and the sounds these blocks make. Even at 6 months, she can easily handle these blocks with one hand, well enough to hold one in each hand – and I think she will enjoy these for months to come.

Basically Brialliant

I’m fortunate enough to live close to a toy store in Germany that carries HABA products and picked these up for my 11 month old. They are basic in a brilliant way and keep my son fascinated and will probably do so for a while yet. Another plus is that they are handcrafted with more natural than man-made materials, so essentially safe of babies to put in their mouths. While HABA products are somewhat expensive (I have spent more that $300 dollars on them) I do not regret a single purchase and I am glad to support handmade craftsmanship (and the healthy development of my son).

Entertaining and Unique

We wanted a SAFE alternative to most blocks you buy in stores right now that may or may not contain lead paint – esp since babies put EVERYThing in their mouths. We decided HABA, a German company, with a great reputation was the way to go. Our 7 mo old baby LOVES these blocks because they are very unique. The jingly one, the one with a mirror. SHe loves the donut shaped one and the little guy with his car. It’s the best gift she got for Christmas and that’s saying a lot when comparing it to all the battery-operated toys she got! I think the basics go a long way. She is entertained by these for a long time. We will buy more Haba toys in the future.

Seemingly endless possibilities

My 6-month old daughter is fascinated by these blocks, right now mainly with the blue cube that has a jingle bell inside. While she is too young to stack the blocks, the bright colors, varied shapes, jingling noises and mirror are really appealing to her and she studies them intently. It’s nice that this set is not just square blocks but includes round and cylindrical shapes that roll, and can see this being something she enjoys for a longgood quality time in ever-expanding ways. I like Haba products in general, which are made from nice woods and fabrics.

Glad grandma bought them!

I thought this was too much to pay for just a handful of blocks. Thankfully, grandma didn’t agree! They are perfect for my 7 month olds. Just enough blocks for me to make a tower that they knock down and each block also does something interesting – rattles, has a bell, or a mirror etc. I wish I’d had them when the twins were about 6months old.
